LOS ANGELES — Population health leader Heluna Health has welcomed three new members to its Board of Directors. Leaders in their respective professions, they have each demonstrated a commitment to health equity and improving the health of people who live in under-resourced communities.
The new board members include Jennifer Covich Bordenick, Chief Executive Officer of Executives for Health Innovation (EHI), a Washington, D.C.-based organization that has helped transform healthcare by bringing together industry leaders to spark collaborative innovation; Alessandro Lazzarini, an Investment Analyst with Capital Group, a global financial services company based in Los Angeles; and Virginia (Ginger) Pryor, President and Founder of VP Consulting Collective and former Director of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services.
At EHI, Jennifer Covich Bordenick has focused on quality and technology solutions for healthcare. Working with executives across the healthcare industry, she has helped to improve healthcare delivery by leveraging a collaborative approach, utilizing patient-focused information and health IT tools, and other methods. Prior to EHI, Bordenick held several leadership roles at for-profit and nonprofit organizations, including four years at the National Committee for Quality Assurance as Director of Policy and Product Development, helping develop national quality standards for health plans. She was awarded a master’s degree in Human Resources Development from The George Washington University (GW) and is an adjunct faculty member at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at GW.
As an Investment Analyst at Capital Group, Alessandro Lazzarini is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and managing a portfolio of investments, focusing on those in the technology and financial sectors. Previously, he served as an analyst and analyst/associate at SRS Investment Management, LLC in New York and Bain Capital in Boston, respectively. In this latter position, he focused on healthcare and financial services investments. Lazzarini is a former board member and board chair of Possible, a non-profit organization that supports health innovation in Nepal. He received a BA in applied mathematics and economics from Harvard College.
Virginia (Ginger) Pryor has spent nearly three decades in the areas of child welfare and social service policy, including her work as Director of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services. As President and Founder of VP Consulting Collective, Pryor helps individuals, groups, communities, and organizations promote system transformations that positively impact children and families. She previously served as Acting Director and Chief Deputy Director of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, overseeing all business operations and programmatic services. Pryor has also held leadership roles at research and consulting firm Abt Associates, and at Casey Family Programs. Prior received a BA in sociology from Washington University and an MSW from Howard University.
